I reimagined Velveeta’s iconic brand by partnering with a dating app to create a playful and cheeky ad series centered around the idea of “melting together.” The designs highlight Velveeta’s creamy, irresistible texture while incorporating clever, romantic wordplay to target a Gen Z audience. Through bold typography, vibrant colors, and relatable humor, the campaign celebrates the perfect pairing—whether it's cheese and crackers or two people finding their match. This project showcases my passion for branding, typography, and creating concepts that connect with audiences on a personal level.

Design Choices

For my Velveeta ad campaign, I decided to base the concept around a dating app theme because it’s something highly relatable to Gen Z. Dating apps are a staple of modern culture, and their swipe-right, instant-match experience is instantly recognizable. By playing off this familiar format, the campaign creates a sense of humor, connection, and playfulness, making Velveeta feel fresh, exciting, and relevant to a younger audience.

I kept Velveeta’s signature cheesy yellow and incorporated an iconic red which is a staple to Velveeta.

  • Cheesy yellow reinforces Velveeta’s creamy, melty goodness while keeping the campaign bold and unmistakably on-brand.

  • Red adds a sense of excitement and passion—just like love (or an obsession with cheese). It also ties back to the visuals of well-known dating apps, making the connection feel natural and immediate.

To bring the concept to life, I designed oversized phone mockups featuring Velveeta-inspired dating profiles. Instead of people, the profiles highlight irresistible, melty cheese dishes, positioning Velveeta as the ultimate “match” for indulgence. Whether it’s mac & cheese or charcuterie board, the visuals make it clear—Velveeta is the one. The swipe-left/swipe-right mechanics in the ad copy add a playful, interactive element. The idea is simple: why settle for anything less than ultra-creamy, ultra-cheesy perfection?

By blending dating culture with food cravings, this campaign makes Velveeta the ultimate comfort-food crush. It’s fun, bold, and irresistibly over-the-top—just like Velveeta itself. Whether you’re looking for a snack or your next great love, one thing’s for sure: when it comes to cheese, Velveeta is always a perfect match.
